DAY
1 - ISTANBUL
Our staff meets your plane and escorts you to your hotel. Transfers
are always on a private basis.
Arrive early and add extra night/tour in Istanbul. Deluxe : Hyatt ,

DAY 2 - ISTANBUL (BL)
We dive right into this fascinating city with visits to its top sights:
Topkapi, the palace of the sultans for centuries; Hagia Sophia, the
greatest church in Christendom for a thousand years; the Blue Mosque,
with its exquisite blue tiles; the Byzantine Hippodrome, scene of chariot
races and gladiatorial combat; and the eerie Sunken Palace cistern beneath
it. Then a drive through modern neighborhoods brings us to the ancient
city walls and the Kariye Museum (Chora Church), filled with brilliant
Byzantine mosaics. Finally, we penetrate the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar
for a shopping spree. Lunch is included at a local restaurant.
DAY 3 - Kayseri (BL)
In the morning we fly to Kayseri , and on we proceed to CAPPADOCIA.
We drive south across the rolling steppe land of the Anatolian plateau
to biblical Cappadocia, where early Christians carved cave like
homes and churches into the soft volcanic rock. We stop at the Agizkarahan
caravanserai on our way to the underground cities at Derinkuyu and
Kaymakli. After descending into one of these cities, we tour the typical
Cappadocian towns of Uçhisar and Ürgüp.

DAY 4 - CAPPADOCIA (BL)
Today we explore the famous rock-hewn churches of Göreme
and Zelve, followed by a shopping excursion. In the afternoon,
we visit the Underground villages before we return to our hotel for
dinner. Kapadokya Hotel or similar . Lunch is included today .
DAY
5- Ankara (B)
Morning at leisure , late afternoon departure
for Ankara , lunch is included enroute.
In Ankara, the
modern capital of the Turkish Republic, known to the Romans as Angora.
We visit the renowned Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the monumental
mausoleum of Atatürk, founder of the republic, before
settling in our hotel: Deluxe : Hilton . First Class : Dedeman or similar.
Day
6 - TRABZON (BD)
Board our flight for Trabzon, and our Hotel: Usta Hotel or similar.
In the afternoon tour we enjoy a walking tour of eh downtown area including
the St. Sophia Church and Museum. Dinner at the Hotel.
Trabzon is the largest city in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey
and the gateway to the interiors of this region of Turkey and Iran strategically
located in the heart of the old trade routes.
In the afternoon we'll visit the major sites including :
St. Sophia Church & Museum which is a 13th century old Byzantine
Church. Housing some of the most beautiful frescoes. Drive along the
citadel. Visit Gulbahar Hatun
Mosque which was constructed by Sultan Selim for his mother as a a mausoleum.
Then we tour Ortahisar and Yenicuma Mosques & Byzantine Churches
Early evening return to Hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7- TRABZON - Sumela - TRABZON (BLD)
After breakfast drive thru the valley to Macka where we visit the 14th
Century old Monastery of Mary and the Altindere National Park. We walk
up to 300 meter height from the valley floor, to visit the impressive
ruins of the Monastery which was one of the most important work of the
Byzantine period. It was rebuilt on 1400, Inspect the frescoes and enjoy
the panoramic view of Karacadag mountains. Followed by a picnic lunch
in the forest before we head back for Trabzon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 8 - TRABZON - Rize - Camlihemsin - TRABZON (BLD)
Morning drive to Rize, to the east of Trabzon. Famous for it's tea plantations
, we tour the old Islam Pasa Mosque built in the 16th Century and the
ruins of the Castle. Enjoy a glass of tea in the Botanical gardens.
Lunch included at a local restaurant , then continue to Cayeli, Pazar,
Ardesen, then on to Camlihemsin and Firtina Valley, to enjoy its scenery
before we return to Trabzon for dinner and overnight.
DAY 9 - ISTANBUL-(BL)
A short drive to the airport to board our flight to return to Istanbul
an dour hotel: Deluxe : Hyatt , Hilton or similar . First clas: Germir
Palas Hotel or similar 4 stars.
DAY 10 - DEPARTURE (B)
We escort you to the airport for your flight home.
