DAY
1 - DEPARTURE Sunday - Weekly : Apr - Oct
Board your transatlantic flight (usually British Airways, Lufthansa
or Turkish Airlines) in New York and depart for fabled Istanbul.

2 - ISTANBUL Monday
We meet your flight and escort you to your First Class (4-star) hotel
: Aygun Plaza or similar. Remainder of the day at leisure. Welcome Turkish
Pastry & Lokom, in your room.

3 - BURSA Tuesday (cBL)
We go by fast catamaran ferry and road to Bursa, the first capital
of the Ottoman sultans, to visit Uludag, the ancient Bithynian
Mt. Olympus, then Bursa's ancient Grand Mosque and the historic Green
Mosque and Mausoleum.Well then tour the silk market, with time for shopping
in the Covered Market. Return to Istanbul late in the day.

4 -
Wednesday (cBL)
In the morning we'll enjoy a half-day Bosphorus Cruise, and a
seafood lunch, and then head back to Istanbul by car for an afternoon
walking and shopping tour of the Covered Bazaar and Egyptian Spice Market.

5 - ISTANBUL Thursday (cBLD)
Let us show you the city: the Blue Mosque, Byzantine Hippodrome,
Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace. After a rest at your hotel,

the evening we'll have a sumptuous dinner, and take in a show.

6 - CANNAKKALE Friday (cBLD)
After breakfast , we begin our scenic drive down to Gallipoli
and WWI memorials, cross the strategic Dardanelles, land in Asia and
on to TROY, we reach Çanakkale in time for dinner at your hotel:
Iris ( 3 stars), Akol or similar.

7 - PERGAMON & IZMIR Saturday (cBLD)
We drive to Pergamon to see its Acropolis, Temple of Trojan,
Altar of Zeus and Temple of Dionysus, the Red Basilica, and the ancient
medical center of the Asclepion, then continue to Izmir for the
night: Kaya Prestige Hotel or similar.

8 - EPHESUS & PAMUKKALE Sunday (cBLD)
We drive to Selçuk to visit the extensive ruins of Roman
Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary. After lunch we continue to
Pamukkale for a tour of the ancient Roman spa of Hierapolis and
its warm calcium-rich mineral baths.
DAY
9 - KONYA Monday (cBLD)
Passing through Turkey's fertile Lake District, we drive to Konya,
capital of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum and home of the Whirling Dervishes.
We visit the Mevlana Museum, where the founder of the dervish order
is buried. Our hotel : Ozkaymak Hotel or similar (modest 3 star- best
available). For the group tour we overnight in Cappadocia instead of
Konya.

10 - CAPPADOCIA Tuesday (cBLD)
Enjoy breakfast, before continuing to Cappadocia, stopping at
the Sultanhan Caravanserai on the way.We descend into a labyrinthine
Underground City at Kaymakli, then tour the rock-hewn cave churches
and monasteries of the Göreme Valley and the rock-hewn natural
citadel of Uçhisar. Our hotel tonight is : Perissia or similar.

11 - ANKARA & ISTANBUL Wednesday (cBLD)
Heading north, we drive to Ankara for a visit to the monumental mausoleum
of Atatürk, father of modern Turkey, then we tour the famous
Museum of Anatolian Civilizations before heading to the airport for
our flight to Istanbul.

12 - DEPARTURE Thursday (cB)
