DAY
1 - ISTANBUL / Cappadocia - Kayseri
Arrival at Istanbul and connect same day to Cappadocia. You're met at
the airport by our local representative, who sees you to your hotel,
and answers any questions you may have about getting to know the area.
Suggested flight : Istanbul Kayseri . 18:15 19:40 TK 264 ( subject to
change without notice)

2 -Hot Air Balloon Cappadocia / Istanbul / Izmir (B)

HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE:Transfers from/to your hotel are always included.
Balloon flight is one of the best activities that you can join in Cappadocia
and probably an experience of a lifetime.
At five in the morning, smoke is beginning to rise from the village
chimneys below you. The barking of dogs, startled by the balloon, attracts
sleepy villagers outside to wave enthusiastically. The weird twisted
landscape of corroded rock to which you have partially become accustomed
from the ground level, becomes even more unearthly when viewed from
several hundred feet above. A 90-minute hot air balloon flight culminating
in a champagne breakfast on landing. In two words? Breathtaking and
Unforgettable!
This is by Kapadokya Balloons www.kapadokyaballoons.com. They are the
best in Cappadocia. Lars and Kaili, the owners of the company, are probably
the best balloon pilots in Europe and they operate and fly the deluxe
(90 minute) flights. Please note that champagne breakfast is offered
only after the deluxe flights.
In
the evening we fly back to Istanbul and connect to Izmir the same night.

DAY
3 - Izmir - Ephesus (BL)

Today we first drive to the Virgin Mary's House; after that we visit
Ephesus which was founded in the eleventh century BC by the Ionians.
Strolling through the streets of Ephesus, we will witness the perfection
of the Greco-Roman Art. Later in the afternoon we will visit St John's
Basilica, believed to be the tomb of the Apostle John, Christ's beloved
disciple. From the basilica, we will be able to look down on the remains
of the temple of Artemis. We end the day with our visit to the Isa Bey
Mosque.

4 - Izmir - Pergamum (BL)

After breakfast, we drive to Pergamum. Arrival to Bergama, we drive
to Acropolis. The Temple of Dionysus and The Altar of Zeus covered with
magnificent friezes depicting the battle between the Olympian gods and
their subterranean foes but most of these famous buildings removed to
Berlin by the 19th century German excavators. Then we head on to Asclepion
where was neither the first nor the only medical & psychological
treatment center. After we have lunch at a local restaurant, visit the
cathedral sized Red Basilica. St john the Divine wrote that Red Basilica
was one of the seven churches of the Apocalypse, singling it out as
the throne of the devil.
DAY
5 - Izmir - Pamukkale (BL)

Lunch included
After breakfast we drive to Pamukkale, beautiful and spectacular natural
site, unique in the world with the fairylike, dazzling white, petrified
cascade. After strolling over the calcareous terraces of Pamukkale,
we visit the Roman city of Hierapolis and end the day with a visit to
the best preserved Necropolis. Return to Izmir.:

6 - Izmir - Miletus, Didyma / Istanbul (BL)

After breakfast, we drive first to Prienne, formerly a leading member
of the Panionic League. As we drive further South, we visit Miletus
and then arrive at Didyma, where we have lunch at a local restaurant,
circumstances permitting, across the road from the temple. As the historian
Pausanias wrote, "The sanctuary of Apollo at Didymoi, and the oracle
there are more ancient than the Ionian settlement".
In the evening we head back to Istanbul and your hotel.
DAY
7 - Istanbul (B)
Breakfast is included daily at your hotel . We have included
hotel accommodation for three more nights , as this is what we think
is the minimum needed to allow you to cover touring the highlights of
Istanbul on your own. If you wish to book the tours in Istanbul with
us , it will be our pleasure to assist.
