Review What other guests say about our services and trips
1. Ground staff : All were excellent -- reliable, on time, cordial,
efficient, attentive to our needs. One in particular merits special
mention: Mohamed Mamdouh, who met us on arrival at Cairo Airport and
shepherded us through our days in the Egyptian capital, was exceptional
in his services. He waited patiently for us the first night, despite
our late arrival and slow progress through immigration, made sure
each detail of our itinerary was smoothly and flawlessly executed,
personally accompanied us on each transfer, even if it meant simply
shepherding us on foot to a restaurant in walking distance of our
hotel. But much more than that: he was a genial talking partner, thoughtful
and generous in his insights and observations, and by the end of our
trip a trusted friend. He brought the human dimensions of Egypt to
life for us. We gladly accepted his offer to meet his family for supper
at his home as part of our program.
2. Transportation: also excellent and beyond expectations. Vans and
cars were new and air conditioned, drivers were expert, friendly --
and fearless! Air transfers (EgyptAir) all worked without a hitch.
Not a single bag went astray or was damaged. I am very grateful to
Sakkara for arranging an earlier flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel (see
below) -- and for securing us seats on the left side of the aircraft
so that we could see this spectacular temple as we were about to land.
(This is but one example of the thoughtfulness of our Sakkara agents.)
Tips for future visitors: by arriving at Abu Simbel on the first flight
(and before the daily convoy of buses pulled in) and by having an
extended talk by our guide in the shade of a bench outside the temples,
we were able to have the temples virtually to ourselves by the time
we got into them; in other words, the passengers on our flight had
gone through the temples by the time we entered them, and the next
wave of passengers were still en route: between around 9:30 and 10:30
am the temples were pretty much empty. By the same token, by securing
the last tickets to the Great Pyramid in Cairo, we were lucky enough
to have the king's chamber entirely to ourselves for about a quarter
of an hour.
3. Hotels: also first rate. We were grateful for the upper-story rooms
(quieter, with great views). At the Cairo Hyatt, our balcony happened
to be so positioned that between two tall skyscrapers on the other
side of the Nile we were able to see in the hazy distance all three
major pyramids of Giza. Was that especially arranged -- or were we
just lucky? Steigenberger in Luxor gave us a beautiful front-seat
view of the sunrise over the Nile. If I had thought through the implications
of our special trip to Abydos and Dendera, I would have suggested
that we stay at a hotel near Cairo airport on arrival, since it was
after 10pm by the time we had cleared customs with our luggage, and
our flight the next morning was at 5am. Staying at the Hyatt that
first night meant we got to bed after midnight and had to be up again
three hours later. A hotel close to the airport would have doubled
our sleeping hours!
4. Sonesta dahabiyyah: this was one of the highlights of the trip,
to be sure, and well worth the special effort to secure a space on
this craft. The captain (Victor) was all that one could wish for in
a captain: sociable, attentive, in charge. He made it his personal
business to prepare some "special treat" virtually every
day, such as dinner on shore in the sand dunes, or breakfast on shore
at a local farm, or a surprise dancing troupe after dinner. Meals
were generous and varied, and the chef was superb! I have never seen
fruits sculpted into such creative forms: who would have guessed that
a corpulent melon could appear as a beautiful swan! As a team, the
crew members offered wonderful personal touches and were incredibly
attentive to our every wish. Victor explained that he did not want
to advertise these special touches in the brochure since passengers
might then expect them; as he intended, we were charmed each day by
their unique offerings. It took us a few days to grasp the Egyptian
rules of hospitality -- i.e., leave everything to the staff and allow
yourself to be tended at every turn -- but we finally caught on and
gratefully submitted to their thoughtful ministrations.
In this context, we were surprised that the vessel was only half full,
and some of the other American passengers on the boat threw some light
on why this might be. One reported having had a hard time finding
any detailed description of this vessel on the Sonesta web page (I
had a similar experience, initially). He also noted that he had been
unable to secure any guarantee from his travel agent that he and his
wife would be booked on this particular boat. He appreciated why this
might be so (force majeur and all that) and yet he rightly observed
that American clients may simply refuse to take this trip unless they
can feel sure of getting the boat they are expecting. I realize that
the unpredictable nature of the travel industry makes it hard for
travel agents to make firm commitments like this, but they need to
know they are scaring away business if they refuse to give this kind
of commitment. In our case, you and I had conversation about this
boat and you offered me verbal assurance that we would be on this
specific boat: your word was good enough for me, but I recognize that
I may be more trusting than your average American customer.
One more point concerning the dahabiyya: Perhaps you know this, but
we learned from the crew that the sails on this vessel are more for
show than for propulsion, which meant we were mostly towed up the
Nile by an attendant tugboat (rather like a royal barge) with only
a few moments under full sail on some days. We did not mind this,
but I can imagine that a sailing nut might have been disappointed.
The crew said that when they travel down the Nile (from Aswan to Luxor)
they are not allowed to open the sails at all. In other words, the
Sonesta vessel is too large and too heavy to be a sailing dahabiyyah,
and the trip up the Nile will be a far better experience than the
trip down the Nile. Fortunately it has two generators on board, which
meant we could have air conditioning at all times (I was told that
other dahabiyyah have only one onboard generator and therefore have
only fans at night).
5. Guides: as you promised, these guides were top ranked -- more Egyptologists
with four or five years of college-level study under their belts than
"guides" in the more typical sense of the word. And, with
one exception, all of them spoke very good English. All of them could
answer just about any question we could throw at them, and you can
imagine we had a great number. No one has been able to explain to
us the significance of the shape of the pharaoh's double crown --
that is, the meaning of the bulbous while crown of Upper Egypt and
scalloped shape of the red crown of Lower Egypt. Whatever their significance,
it was clear from the wealth of engravings in the temples devoted
to this theme that the pharaohs placed immense importance on the need
to stitch these two kingdoms together. To the credit of our guides,
none of them tried to "make up" a answer.
6. Changes to the itinerary in Cairo: In retrospect I am grateful
that I cancelled half day to Sakkara. (Instead we did this trip during
one of our "free days" with a guide recommended by an American
friend. She was also excellent -- her name is Nihal Mofty nihal.mofty@sekem,com;
phone number 002-0105096913.) It would have been too rich an experience
to take in the major pyramids and the older pyramids in a single day.
Also, at the advice of one of your guides, we switched the visit to
the Egyptian Museum from morning to afternoon (3pm), by which time
the museum was emptying out and not nearly as crowded as I have heard
it can be earlier in the day.
You are most welcome to make whatever use you may have of these remarks,
which are heartfelt and full of gratitude. ....... Of course, I am
most willing to make use of the word-of-mouth network: indeed, I have
already done so.
So, dear Omar, as you can see, we enjoyed a flawless trip, thanks
in large measure to your guidance and meticulous planning. Having
worked myself (many years ago) in the travel business, I can fully
appreciate the elegance and reliability and sheer high class of "Traveling
in Style".
With best wishes,
Douglas & Connie

Greetings
Omar,
You fulfilled my mother's dreams and exceeded her expecations on the
trip of her lifetime. Egypt is such a beautiful country and beautiful
people. I'm eternally grateful to you. The trip was a huge success
and I can't thank you enough. First class the whole way.
Indeed we had a few bumps in the road, however problems can never
be completely avoided. However, the level of service overall was outstanding.
We encountered an issue with the rep in Luxor and there was a bit
of confusion that tips were not included all locations outside of
Cairo. I was asked several times by the guides and reps to pay tips
to the drivers and porters in Aswan, Able Simbel, and Alexandria.
I was confused and embarassed as I had thought all those things were
included. In the future I may opt to pay the tips myself (even though
it may be an inconvenence so as to not shortchange anyone for services
rendered).
Our representative in Cairo, Marcos went above and beyond to assist
us, including taking me to the tourist police station in the middle
of the night, hours before our departure, to file a report when the
Grand Hyatt lost one of our checked suitcases. It was such a pleasure
to have dinner at his house which was a highlight for my mom.
Said our guide in Luxor to Aswan was absolutely amazing in handling
my mother's needs and providing insightful and educated tours of all
the historical sites. I would request his services again in the future.
All in all I would certainly recommend your services to my friends
and family traveling to Egypt and I will indeed be a repeat customer
in the future. thank you again for everything.

Subject: Re: Travel to Turkey , Greece and Egypt
Hi Omar,
Hope you and your family are well and happy.
It was definitely a trip of a lifetime for us. We had exceptionally
great weather and our accommodations were wonderful, although I
did not realize how tiring 8 flights in 18 days could be! I don't
think I would schedule that tightly again. We could never unpack
our suitcases and totally relax, as we always had another destination
to go to in a day or two. It was such a wonderful sampling of fabulous
places to visit, the people were friendly, and all the guides really
worked hard to make sure that we got to where we were supposed to
be. Although it was an ambitious schedule, we managed it with big
smiles on our faces.
The worst part of the trip was our 3 am wakeup call in gorgeous
Santorini and the 5 am taxi ride to the airport to get back to Athens
so that we could take another plane to Istanbul. You need to change
that schedule if you can for future clients. In fact, I'm thinking
that if we had just reversed our trip and saw Egypt first, then
we could have avoided that altogether.
Our favorite Greek Isle was Santorini -- what a spectacularly beautiful
place! We had to take 120 steps down to get to our room, which was
not fun and dangerous since they did not have a hand rail that we
could hold on to during our climbs up and down the mountain, and
the steps were all different heights and widths. Because of that,
if we return there, we would stay in another place besides the Katikies,
although we absolutely loved it there and the view was spectacular.
I didn't mind walking the steps, but I minded that there was no
handrail and it was unsafe. If I had a few drinks, then I probably
would not be able to make it to the room at all, lol.
We loved the hydro foil ride between Mykonos and Santorini. It was
a very pleasant ride and a beautiful way to see the other islands.
The fact that we were in business class made it that much more pleasant,
as the boat was packed with people, and we had a little more room
and quiet upstairs in business class.
Egypt was our biggest surprise. So much to see and so fascinating!
We did as much as we possible could in our short time there. Many
thanks to our excellent guide, a woman by the name of Samah Gamal,
and our driver, Essam. She really made our visit memorable. She
had a lot of experience, had a no-nonsense approach with all the
guards, and was both very sweet and aggressive at the same time
to make sure we did what we had planned to do. Please ask for her
again, she was absolutely TERRIFIC. Our driver was great too, he
was calm and had nerves of steel, whereas we did not. Who knew that
Cairo, a city of 20 million people, has no speed limits and no traffic
lights???!!! We even were able to go for a camel ride in the dessert.
Those pictures will be a legacy to our grandchildren, to show them
that even at our age, we refuse to sit in a rocking chair and watch
TV all day. In the morning, my 70 year old husband smoked a camel,
in the afternoon he rode one. Life is great!
Many thanks to you and your staff, Omar, for making it happen for
us.
With warmest wishes,
Bronnie

Subject: Nile cruise
Hi, Omar!
I'm sorry to be so long in responding to your e-mail.
We had a lovely time on our cruise. All of the agents, guides, and
drivers were very helpful. There were no hitches in any of the transfers.
We especially enjoyed Tamer and Kasim (Kaseem? in Abu Simbel). Hany
in Luxor, Waleet in Aswan, and Achmed (Ahmed?) in Abu Simbel were
all very helpful. I'm sorry that I'm not sure about the spelling
of some of the names
The boat was very nice. We think we would like to
go back to Luxor some time and spend more time there; after
all, we just got a small taste!
Both of the hotels were exceptionally nice--the Winter Palace in
Luxor and the Movenpick Aswan. The grounds at the Luxor are beautiful.
Jim wished that he had brought swim trunks at both hotels, as they
had great pools.
We will definitely recommend your agency to any of our friends and
family who want a cruise
in Egypt or the Mediterranean! Thank you!
Very truly yours,
Jim and Joyce

Subject: Update on our trip : Egypt and Jordan
Dear Omar, I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our Egypt
trip.
Everyone couldn?t have done enough for us. The representatives
at the airport were there to meet our every need. Our guides were
knowledgeable and friendly and our drivers, especially in Cairo
were great.
Our hotels were very beautiful and our rooms were
clean and spacious. We were glad that when we first got to Cairo
that we were near the downtown area because we did do some exploring
and we got to get the feeling of the city.
Wael in Cairo was especially helpful as was the driver
Ehab and our Guide George . We were with them a lot and they went
out our their way to make our Cairo experience both an educational
and a fun experience.
The Niles cruise was very nice, the upgrade to the
Mojoto was great and the only thing that could have been nicer was
if we did not have as many families with very young children on
board. We still enjoyed the cruise very much. Our guide for the
trip, Aly Hassan did a fabulous job. He is a delightful young man
and we really enjoyed our time with him.
Our trip to Abu Simbel was amazing and we were very
glad that we made that part of our itinerary.
The Renaaissance at Sharm El Shiek was what we needed
to relax and Ras Muhamed was a real treat. Our guide Reda did a
great job of showing us around Sharm and went above and beyond to
make our final days in Egypt a truly amazing experience. Even though
the day traveling to Nuweiba and then on to Jordan was difficult,
he did everything possible to make it as easy as it could have been.
Petra was incredible. We had a very interesting guide,
his name was Honi and he was so knowledgeable that he really enhanced
our day at Petra. The driver there was also extremely good and even
though it was very short stay in Jordan it was well worth it.
Thank you again for all your help in planning this
trip. We really enjoyed ourselves and we will always count this
trip as one our best.

Subject: Re: Devonshir Family - How was the service
Hi Omar,
First, many thanks for the lovely kartouches. We were all thrilled
to receive them! It was a very nice gesture!
Also, thank you for your kind wishes and for following up with us.
We had a fabulous time and were very pleased with the people from
Sakkara Tours, particularly Wael in Cairo and Ahmed (? ) in Aswan.
Egypt was remarkable and we are thrilled to have visited all that
we did.
We found the Guides to be exceptional - especially Ashraf on the Nile
cruise and Hani at Petra. All of us enjoyed their company and wished
we could have had more time with each - especially Ashraf. He was
truly outstanding. My husband told him, as well, that he was particularly
patient with all the female shoppers in our family!
We were really impressed, as well, with the staff on the Nile boat.
They were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. Additionally,
we thoroughly enjoyed The Four Seasons Hotels in both Cairo and Sharm.
A few points for consideration are as follows:
1. The journeys to and from Jordan on the ferry were very difficult
days. Just a heads up for future clients. Although Petra was outstanding,
the days before and after were quite unpleasant and the logistics
were not as smooth as they had been on the rest of our trip especially
on the Egypt side. Things went much smoother on the Jordan side.
2. We would suggest that for future travel you might like to warn
clients about the Jordanian departure tax. Not being aware of the
tax we did not have sufficient Dinar. Throughout the rest of the trip
Visas and taxes were included.
Nevertheless, thank you for facilitating a most memorable and interesting
experience. We would not hesitate to recommend your services to others
and hope to book another vacation with you soon, as we appreciated
very much how Travel in Style made everything so effortless and first
class.
All the best,

Hello
Omar-
I was delighted with the trip to Egypt and Jordan! Outside a couple
of very minor glitches everything went superbly well. We were always
met by representatives wherever we went who were very accommodating.
I always felt safe and pampered. Most of our guides were excellent.
The hotels were good as was the river boat.
The only problem was trying to fit Abu Simbel into this package. We
really needed one more day. I did feel rushed there. However, it was
worth it in the long run. Petra was astonishing as was our guide and
driver.
I loved these countries and would highly recommend that everyone get
a chance to see them.
Thanks for helping us and I look forward to working with you again.

Subject: Paual and Steve HOME FROM EGYPT AND JORDAN
- FEB 2008
Hello All,
We returned from our trip to Egypt, Jordan and Germany on Wednesday
after a long flight from Frankfurt via San Francisco. We have been
sorting mail, re-organizing and getting over the jetlag.
A special hello to the new friends that we made on our trip:
Our Cairo area guide, Iman and her fiancee Mohamed. Always showing
a cheery smile and great enthusiasm.
Our Nile River guide, Ashraf. Witty, enthusiastic and always helpful
and patient.
Temel Kip and his lovely wife, from Turkey, who we met at breakfast.
We look forward to visiting with them when they come to Reno.
The lovely Micheline from Quebec, Canada who brightened our days with
her lively spirit and warm personality.
And thanks to Omar of Travel in Style for arranging our trip.
We really had a good time everywhere that we traveled. We were fortunate
to have great guides and drivers, excellant accommodations and no
shortage of food.
People were friendly--"Where you from?"--"America"--"America
Good. Welcome!"
We saw so many historic temples, pyramids, mosques, churches and Roman
and Greek ruins that it is hard to sort them all out in our minds.
Good thing that we took a few thousand pictures.
We are often asked "What was the best part of your trip?"
Hard to answer, but one of the most unique places, especially in our
times and lives of plenty, was the town of Siwa, Egypt. A town of
25,000 people with only 20% of it powered by electricity it was like
going back in time. Siwa is an oasis near the Libyan border. Autos
are rarely seen and the favored mode of transportation is the donkey
cart. We visited the remains of two ancient cities, built of rock
and mud but now in ruins. Climbing down a steep ramp to visit the
inside of a pyramid is also quite spectacular. It is hard to imagine
how these buildings could have been created.
Seeing the pillars of Luxor, Jerash, or an Obilisque perhaps 70 feet
high carved from solid granite is a wonder in itself. Petra, Jordan
should also be on everyone's bucket list. Beautiful!! We were fortunate
to have Haney as our guide and comedian. He was born in the ancient
city of Petra and has been guiding for 56 years.
I could go on and on about out trip but it would be better if you
experienced Egypt and Jordan for yourself.
Happy Travels,
Steve and Paula

The tour and the trip to Cairo was one we will always remember. The
guide was fabulous and made every minute count. I would absolutely
recommend her for any future tours. She was smart, informative and
worked with us on our time constraints, we also noticed her "smoothing"
the way for us to park in restricted areas so that we didn't waist
time walking distances to our sights. We loved the lunch overlooking
the pyramids for the beautiful hotel, again our guide made a very
wise and wonderful choice for us. I'm glad she suggested not going
to the bazaar, we heard not so nice stories about it from the others
on the cruise ship when we compared experiences from their tour to
Cairo. It seems that no cruise ship tours go to the Egyptian Museum,
probably because their groups are too large and the museum and the
Cairo's traffic can't accomodate them. Booking this private tour was
the wisest thing I did for the trip. I feel badly for all those who
see the pyramids and don't get to see the museum. It will be far better
for everyone once the new museum is finished at the pyramid sight.
Thank you for an unforgettable day, everyone involved could not have
been nicer.

> Hi Omar, I keep meaning to write and update but I have been so
busy with work. Anyhow, a belated Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to
you. Our trip seems like such a distance memory now, however it is
very much a good one. We had a great time in both countries, they
were both very different and by the end of the 10 busy days we were
ready for another holiday (ha!)
We weren't prepared to be the only people on our tour, for some reason
we thought we would be part of a larger tour group, however in the
end it was excellent and flexible. And members of the company who
looked after us out there went above and beyond to try and make it
a great trip.
Jordan -The people who took care of us in Jordan were fantastic. The
level of care was perfectly balanced. Adnan our guide was super, I
was very impressed by his knowledge, he gave us a great insight to
the Jordan culture and life. I think it was appropriate doing Jordan
first, if we had done it after Egypt I suspect it may have been a
little bit of a let down as Egypt is so action packed with historical
sites in every direction where as Jordan is vastly smaller with a
lot less to absorb.
However, Jordan was superb and Petra was one of the highlights of
the whole trip.
Egypt - Well this was a whole new story. We had an amazing time in
Egypt but by the time we left I was ready to depart - so 6/7 day is
a good length trip. The week we had was packed, busy and relaxing
all at different times. The guides used throughout our trip were superb.
Mohammed Yousef our Egyptian overseer was very nice, he went above
and beyond his call to try and make our trip special and it was greatly
appreciated. Although at times we felt his presence was unnecessary,
if not slightly over-bearing whilst we were in Cairo, but I guess
my husband and I are fairly independent so other people might really
appreciate his style. The other guides used by the company were superb,
they really made our trip interesting and exciting. Ending the trip
in Sharm-el-sheik was very relaxing and topped it off although the
choice of resort we were at I wouldn't recommend for a honeymooning
couple.
I only have one little bug bear and this is not at the company but
more a suggestion of how the company could assist future clientele.
One of the biggest challenges we had was the tipping expectations.
We never minded tipping and we always paid what our guide suggested,
however we found it a struggle getting the right amount of change,
especially when shops wouldn't change the money (or the cruise liner
would only give change in Euros?). I realise tipping is optional,
but the average tourist is happy to pay the going rate. If the guide
had taken care of the tipping - on boat rides, on carriage rides,
to tour guides (themselves), to meet and greet guides, to airport
staff, to hotel concierge who put luggage in the car, to cruise staff
and the list
goes on...and on...and on...our holiday would have been far more relaxing.
I realise it is optional but realistically 90% of the people pay the
going rate. At any rate, just a suggestion.
Apart from that, I want to say Thank You very much for all the effort
you put in to organising our holiday with such little time and a big
thank you to all the staff who helped to make it a great trip. All
the best for 2007!
Kind Regards
Megan

Subject: Hello
Dear Omar,
My wife and I would like to think you for a wonderful trip to Egypt
and Jordan. We arrived back in Athens yesterday where we'll be for
a couple more days before going on to Italy next week. After we return
home ....... I will put together more information on our amazing trip
and forward to you. We are very lucky to have been able to find Travel
in Style before we made plans for this trip.
Amazingly we ran into another couple from Utah (Steve and Paula) at
the Sonesta Hotel in Cairo midway through our trip, I had shared information
line without knowing them at all and recommended they consider using
T.I.S. Little did I know they had went your Travel in Style and were
having a great trip from the sound of things. Once Paula told me she
used Frommers travel boards to obtain info a good company to work
with in Egypt we realized that we had spoken on line more than once
without knowing one anothers name. The world is getting smaller by
the day.
Take care for now. We'll be in touch after we return home.
Chris & Donna
Dear Omar,
We would just like inform you that our recent trip to
Egypt trip was a trip of a lifetime,
full of wonderful memories and experiences of the sights and sounds
of this incredible ancient land and its warm and friendly people.
Thanks to your planning and excellent services we experienced pleasant,
knowledgeable guides who were always punctual and polite; the Sonesta
Moon Goddess was first rate, Professional staff and good food.
For your information the Old Cataract Hotel was wonderful, but under
the Sofitel management leaves a lot to be desired, very poor management,
poor service by poorly trained staff. Dinner at their restaurant was
disappointing, and the so called Royal Tea service was the worst I
have ever experienced, not remotely resembling high tea that I think
people are expecting. They should take a lesson from the Sonesta folks,
having said all that I would still recommend the hotel
for the grand architectural /location experience, but be warned of
the service. They even refused to take our credit card, insisting
on cash, telling us that the banks were at fault which turned out
to be untrue.
We enjoyed a short flight upgrade and an on board ship upgrade that
was wonderful, thank you.
Omar I have no hesitation in recommending your services, and will
consult with you again, I am very grateful to Tommy for recommending
you. I am considering writing a short note to the Egyptian consulate
to inform
them of my wonderful experience of visiting your country. If you could
forward me contact information please.
Please see attached
Best regards,
Malcolm
Dear friends, (Salam Alaykum)
Well we have left the magic of Egypt and are back to
reality (which is magical too).
The trip was a dream come true, we stayed with our friends in Cairo
for a week visiting every place imaginable. Our friends and hosts
........... made it all come alive down at street level mixing with
the locals, going to the markets and bazzars, to the spice shops,
the crafts, the artisan schools and galleries, enjoying Egyptian cuisine
at local
restaurants and eateries. Dennis?s knowledge of all things Egyptian
is incredible.
Then off to Giza to visit the pyramids and of course the Sphinx, the
weather remained cool (50-60?s) with occasional light showers. (Not
a problem)
Seven days later it had warmed up, and it was now time to start our
cruise down the Nile, which started with a short flight to Luxor and
our own private guided tour of the Valley of the Kings. Then we boarded
our home
for the next five days the cruse ship Sonesta Moon Goddess and were
surprised with an upgrade from a double cabin to a three room suite,
which was wonderful. (Thanks Omar) .......................................
Our private guide traveled with us for the five days, a young very
pleasant, knowledgeable Egyptian called Tamer a native of Luxor. The
following days were spent quietly sailing down the Nile, enjoying
the vistas, fellow travelers, warming temperatures, and stopping at
all the major sites such as the temples of Karnak, Edfu, Kom Ombo
and many others, returning to our ship for all our meals,( good buffet
mixed cuisine and excellent service.)
Five days later we arrived in Aswan site of the second largest dam
in the world (Aswan Dam) We disembarked our home for the past five
days and checked into the renowned (Old Cataract Hotel) some one hundred
plus years
old, its Moorish architecture is beautiful and has hosted such famous
folks as Sir Winston Churchill, President Rosservelt, and Agather
Christie (murder on the Nile).
The following day we had a short flight to Abu Simbel to spend a few
hours viewing the imposing edifice of the almighty Pharaoh Ramses
II, this whole site was rescued and moved up the hillside from the
rising waters of Lake
Nasser when the Aswan Dam was built. After flying back to Aswan and
spending another night at the old cataract hotel we made another short
flight back to Cairo to spend the final four days of our trip at our
host's apartment enjoying more sites of Cairo which included several
old Mosques, every where we went we were greeted and welcomed by the
locals
young and old, especially the children who smiled and said welcome
to Egypt, it was one of the most safe and friendly third world countries
I have visited. Far too many sights, sounds, and experiences to tell
you about in this short update. Many, many thanks to our dear friends
......, and Omar of, Travel in Style, a San Francisco agency who arranged
our cruse and airfares. We strongly recommend a visit; if any one
wants more information don't hesitate to ask us.
We purchased two fine Egyptian wool rugs, some nice papyrus drawings,
and fine cotton.
Best regards,
Pic and Malcolm.

Dear Omar,
I want you to know that Melissa and I had a fabulous
trip and want to thank you for putting it together for us. We would
never have thought to go to the Valley of the Whales without your
guidance and it was amazing. As it turned
out, we were there just one day after Madame Mubarek went there to
dedicate it officially as a World Heritage site -- there was a news
crew there doing a follow up and they interviewed Melissa and I, and
we will be on Dream
Channel in Egypt at 10:00 PM Saturday!
I can't speak highly enough of our Sakkara team in Cairo
-- Bassem Sabry, the coordinator, Philip the driver and our guide
Samah Gamal. We had dinner with Samah and her family and it was a
true highlight (the night that Egypty
won the African Soccer championship). Mena House was beyond any expectation
in the realm of our imagination and the Dahabiya trip, down to every
last detail, utterly perfect. The crew was so thoughtful in every
respect. Abu
Simbel and Seti House were also wonderful, and our coordinator there,
Ahmed was another very engaging person.
The only thing we were not crazy about was the Grand
Hyatt in Cairo. It has the atmosphere of a train station at rush hour,
24 hours a day and we like places that are somewhat more intimate,
even if it costs us a bit more. The
meals in Cairo were fine albeit repetitious, everyone seemingly anxious
to make sure we experienced hummus, kebabs, potatoes and rice one
more time! On the positive side, the Grand Hyatt had a great breakfast
buffet with a lot
of variety and a wonderful spa where we had treatments with mud from
the Nile.
We come back with many unique memories of places and
people, hundreds of photos, beautiful souvenirs and with our lives
greatly enriched. We may decide to go back to the Western Desert,
Sinai and some more tombs or to
travel to other places where you package personal tours. We will not
hesitate to work with you again and to send you new clients.
I hope you enjoy the attached photo. I am on the left
and Melissa on the right.
Warm regards, Marjorie

Hello Omar,
Yes, you have my permission to use my comments, as I
said I would recommend TravelInStyle to anyone travelling to Egypt.
As to the thiings which made me continue with you.
For one, a prompt and positive response. So many times
I have sent out emails only to wait in vain for a response. The fact
that you replied almost immediately and said that you could accommodate
our needs was a very big factor.
Your flexibility, we had heard that we would have to
get 2 cabins on the Nile, and we did not want to do that - you said
pretty much immediately that it was not a problem, again that was
a big selling point!
Flexibility with our tour ie. an extra day for Abu Simbel
etc. The fact that the tour was customised to our needs again was
a big plus.
Also of course, the first thing one does is go to your
website which was professional and comprehensive - again very reassuring
for one booking a travel company on line. I don't think I mentioned
how I found you. I was on the Frommers website on Egypt, and on the
section for personal comments/chat, I went through it it see if any
companies were recommended. Your name and company came up several
times, and all with glowing comments.
Lastly and not least, your pleasant emails which were
both friendly and professional . They gave me a good feeling about
going ahead with things Omar. I think a good working relationship
between customer and provider is key, and you were able to set my
mind at rest by responding to all my questions big or small with promptness
and humour!
So, thankyou again and yes, I hope that we will be able
to use you again. If we are in SF we will be sure to drop in on you
and say hello!
All the very best.
Catriona

Dear Omar,
We are home and I am working my way through a mountainous pile of
laundry!
What a wonderful trip we had- everything was beautifully arranged
from transfers, to guides to flights to accommodation. We thought
the guides we had : Rania in Cairo, and Wa-el in Luxor were fantastic,
informative, friendly and great with the kids. Both were terrific
but I would especially recommend Wa-el, great person and couldn't
do enough to make our trips special.
Josef at Tresor travel transferred us around without a hitch, our
private van arrived as if by magic each time we needed it.
We were so sorry that we couldn't visit Waafa at her house, but we
had to get up very early the next morning(3am) for our flight to Luxor
and it would not have been fair to the children to keep them out late.
Our first day in Luxor was extremely busy so we were glad that the
kids had some sleep the night prior. Our cruise ship was lovely, and
everyone on board were so friendly and kind to us. We had fruit baskets
in our room, and the chef came by each meal to see that everything
was fine and offering to make the kids anything special.
What a relief it was to have everything organised for us, after a
day of trekking around monuments, it was wonderful to see our van
appear to whisk us off to the hotel or ship.
Omar, I can't say enough about how professional and friendly everyone
was. Liam especially made a ton of friends both old and young, they
all seemed intrigued by his blond hair and cute smile! We brought back
Papyruses for Shona's classmates and she is regaling them with her
travel tales this week.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending travelinstyle
to any of our friends. It was a wonderful experience from start to
finsih and we hope to use your services again if not for Egypt, perhaps
for another destination.
Many thanks to all of your team Omar, it was a "once in a lifetime
experience" which we enjoyed so much.
Best wishes from us all,
Catriona, Bill, Shona and Liam

Dear Omar,
Thanks for putting together a very enjoyable trip for
us!
We had a great time indeed.... The cruise was very relaxing
, more enjoyable than I expected.
Your country has so much to offer to the tourists and
there is a lot to see and learn.
I almost learned arabic too:) The truth is that we have several common
words in Albanian, I guess our agent and tour guide got really tired
with me asking all the time what the words meant.
Here are some photos ....
Thank you again for being very correct and helpful .

Hi Omar!
Henry and I returned last week from a most incredible trip. Your associates
in Cairo were outstanding. They picked us up on schedule, were attentive
and helpful with any questions we had. Our personal guide Eman Masood
was a delight. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, she communicated
well, and was receptive to any of our requests for itinerary changes.
I would highly reccomend her personally for any of your groups. Everyone
EVERYWHERE knew her from the museums to the pyramids and let us know
how special a guide she was!
I'm so glad we had this chance to work together again and look foward
to having the opportunity to use your services in the future........
Stay well and again thank you,
Kindest Regards,
Donna

We just wanted to let you know we made it back home after our weeklong
detour through Italy. Athens was fantastic. The tours were very good,
and short of heading out to the islands, I can't think of a single
thing
we would have rather done while there.
Although we had an excellent time in Athens, Egypt was by far the
highlight of our entire trip, including Italy. We just can't say enough
about Ahmed, Isis, Ashraf, and all our drivers. We simply could not
have done the trip without their help. Ahmed was very professional,
courteous, and helpful, and always went out of his way to make sure
we were where we needed to be at the right time. Our Egyptologist
guides, Isis and Ashraf, were both very knowledgeable and made our
visit so much better with their endless supply of information. We
wore out both days
long before they did. We will definitely try to come back to Egypt
when we have more time to spend.
Thank you so much for arranging the trip, allowing us to customize
what we needed to, and putting us in touch with such good people.
And please find attached pictures of us enjoying a camel ride. :-)

Good morning Fatima,
We had a fabulous trip. The service we received was exceptional everywhere
we went. We were very pleased with the itinerary. We did the Egyptian
Museum the last day and were glad we did it that way.
I know most people normally do that first but we felt
like we understood what we were seeing so much more having traveled
the country before we went there.
Our guides in Cairo and Jordan (Tarek Heikal and Wajdi
Al-Mohtasep) were two of the best we have had anywhere in the world!
Both of the organizations you worked with were very organized.
In Jordan, Muhannad Hamid went beyond our expectations
staying with us until we got on the bus to get on the ferry.
The ferry was very late and he spent most of his day waiting with
us.
It was nice to know we had someone who could tell us what was going
on and we really appreciated his waiting with us.
The last individual I want to single out is Rafik Samuel in Cairo.
He made all of our trips in and out of Cairo effortless as well as
planning two great days in Cairo for us.
Thank you so much for all of your work putting this trip together.
This was for me a trip of a lifetime and your hard work made it perfect.

Summer

Roz
& Jos Gripton:
Hello Omar.
I hope you are well.
Thanks for asking, we had a wonderful time, but I was ill when I got
home. Having said that, I'm always ill when I get back from Egypt
but it doesn't stop me going again and again. The hotel in Cairo was
really good and the boat, as always, was great. The guide we had this
year was exceptional. We called him George but it was actually something
like Bishoi. We liked him very much. I can honestly say, you met all
our expectations.
Unfortunately, we don't live anywhere near London, more central England
in the heart of Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood country. Much better than
London!
Thank you for the holiday and I hope to be back again next year.
Kind regards
Roz

My husband and I just returned from a 4-day Nile cruise (Feb. 07)
on the M/S Monaco, with an additional 3 days in Cairo. Everything
was fabulous thanks to Travel in Style. From start to finish we were
met with wonderful drivers and guides who were very friendly, helpful,
knowledgeable, and always punctual. The service we were provided was
unexpected and immensely appreciated. We were completely awestruck
with everything about this tour, including the boat, which also exceeded
our expectations. We generally are not "tour people" but
Omar and Fatima from Travel in Style changed our minds. We want to
go to Turkey in the fall and we will definitely have Travel in Style
put it together for us. Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

I must say I feel very lucky to have chosen your agency.
We had a wonderful
time in Egypt. Everything went very well. We were all very pleased,
tired by the end of the trip, but very happy. I have been singing Egypt's
praises ever since we got back. And of course the Travel in Style Agency
and HRH
Omar as well. Thank you for everything that you did to make our trip
a very memorable adventure.
We were met at every new location by a representative of your agency
and all details of luggage and transfers were handled very efficiently
and with no complaints.
Our drivers and guides were always there when needed, even we were sometimes
a little late.
Check in to hotels went smoothly and we had no problems.
Our guides were informative, warm, and friendly and made our trip very
memorable.
We only have two very small complaints.
We were tired of buffets on the 2nd day. I know that they are time
efficient, but we would have rather gone to local restaurants where
we could have tasted the food of Egypt.
The last minor complaint was of the hotel in Aswan. We have no complaints
about the service (service was very good) or the location of the hotel.
The hotel was under restoration and probably should have been restored
many
years ago. Furniture was very old and literally collapsing. They had
no ATM service. In general not the most enjoyable hotel.
Again these complaints had no real effect on the experience we had
in Egypt.
Please send our hello to all those that we met through your agency
on our
visit to your lovely country.

So sorry for the lack of response. Things have been just crazy. Thank
you so much for coordinating our wonderful trip. We really enjoyed everything.
The boat was great and our tour guide as well. They apparently did not
receive our itinerary and left us with nothing to do on our last day.
After we showed it to them, they accommodated us and escorted us on
the train back to Cairo! We thoroughly enjoyed the Egyptian people,
they were lovely.
Thank you so much for all of your help. You were wonderful dealing
with deposits and checks being sent etc. I know we weren't the easiest.
hello fatima.
sorry we did not get back to you sooner,we just came home yesterday.
we want to tell you that our trip to
Eypt was wonderfull. Your guides did a great job and we enjoyed every
trip we took there. the people are very friendly and
we canot say anything bad about the whole trip. it was a great experience
to see all this history , all representaties were there right acording
to schedule from beginning to end.
if you looking for comments, here are my observations:
first night in Cairo and on to Luxor-flawles.
nile cruise perfect with mingling with local
vacationers.our guide named Mahmoud , had exelent knowledge and his
illustration was very profesional.
in cairo we had a lady guide named Mrs Maha Kaleb she was great.
the trip to Alexandria was interestng as was everything, but very long
the ride'
the visit to the Sinai and monestary was realy
awesome.could have skipped the " meal" with the Beduins.
Our hotels were fine, food was very good ,poeple very friendly and we
were at ease everywhere, welcome was their greeting.
Our highlights being Abu Simbel and the Valley of
the Kings.---EVERYTHING-- should have stood longer.

Omar, I am finally getting a chance to write you a note thanking you
for the great trip Patrick and I enjoyed in Egypt. It was a fun time
and I learned a great deal about Egypt and its people. Everyone we met
was kind and helpful, ......l and Ahmed did a great job.
Our only complaint was the Old Cataract. It is sad to own such a beautiful
property and not take care of it. The rooms were in terrible shape,
not much better than a Days Inn in the states.
We did find that first day up to Aswan trying and I would not advise
anyone to get up that early to hang out in the hotel lobby before the
trip to Abu Simbel. I would probably fly directly to Abu Simbel if I
go again.
Thanks for all you did to make a great trip and I look forward to working
with you again sometime. Art
