Beit Al-Joury is a magnificent old mansion dating from the 16th
century AD, now tastefully restored as a boutique hotel. This
charming hotel gives the visitor a wonderful introduction to the
exotic yet sophisticated attractions of the Old City of Damascus.

Beit al-Joury has 10 rooms and is centrally located in the Qaimaria
quarter of the Old City, just three minutes walk from Bab Touma
and 5 minutes from the Omayyad Mosque.
* Once the home of a wealthy Syrian family, Beit al-Joury is distinguished
by its ablaq walls, arches and architectural features, and original
decorative elements. Restoration of the house began in 2003 and
was completed in October 2007. Employing local craftsmen, use
of traditional restoration techniques and meticulous attention
to detail has created a gracious hotel reminiscent of the glory
of a by-gone era.

The central courtyard features an original tiled floor and relaxing
garden of damascene roses, citrus trees and wisteria. The serenity
of the setting is enhanced by the melodious cascade of the fountain
and lingering fragrance of roses, jasmine and orange blossom.

Beautiful carved and painted wood in gold and silver is a feature
of walls and ceilings throughout the house. Doors have been carefully
restored to retain the original mother of pearl inlaid work reflecting
classic traditional designs.

Beit al-Joury has 10 exclusive rooms, each elegantly decorated
in traditional style with antique furniture, unique Syrian light-fittings
and beautiful mosaic floors. Soft furnishings are of a superior
quality, with embroidered silk bedcovers and linen sourced . All
rooms have modern en-suite bathrooms and are equipped with TV,
telephone and continuous internet service. Personal comfort is
guaranteed in all seasons, with individual air conditioners installed
in each room and thermo-pipe central heating throughout the hotel.
