Day
1. Casablanca- Daily Year Round (D)
Morning arrival in Casablanca Mohamed V. Airport. Meeting by your air
conditioned motor coach and guide. Enjoy touring Casablanca's water
front, then onto the city center for a panoramic tour of the city, followed
by transfer to hotel Idou Anfa or similar 4 stars hotel. Welcome Mint
Tea/Coffee served upon arrival at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner
and overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 . Meknes. Fez (BD)
Morning Visit of the momentous Hassan II Great Mosque, including its
charming interior, a magnificent art work of architecture and Moroccan
handicraft. Departure to Rabat, the capital of Morocco: see the Mausoleum
of late King Mohamed V, a jewel of hispano-moorish architecture, the
Hassan Tower nearby and the Oudayas Kasbah overlooking the mouth of
the Bou Regreg River. Then, on to Meknes, former Imperial City built
at the end of the 17th century by King Moulay Ismail. Arrival in time
for lunch at leisure followed by city sightseeing, including the old
ramparts, the Moulay Ismail stables, granaries and House of Water, Bab
Mansour, one of the most beautiful gate in Morocco and the Moulay Ismail
Mausoleum. In the afternoon drive to Fez for dinner and overnight at
hotel Sheraton (Moderate 5 stars). Welcome fruit basket in your room.
Day 3 - Fez (BD)
The whole day will be devoted to the visit of Fez, dating back to the
9th century and a plunge into biblical times. Flat and comfortable shoes
are a must for the visit of the Medina and its small winding and paved
alleys. See the old Koranic schools, the Quaraouyine Mosque (from outside
only), the Nejjarine Square, the huge doors of the Royal Palace, the
famous "potters" district and more. Dinner at the hotel. One large bottle
per person of spring or mineral is water is included and available at
your hotel room.
Day 4 - Marrakech (BD)
Morning leave to Marrakech across the Middle Atlas Mountains, through
the village of Immouzzer du Kandar, the lake of Daiet Aoua, Ifrane ski
resort in the heart of a cedar forest. Then after Azrou and Khenifra,
down the Tadla Valley and the rich agricultural area of Beni Mellal
where a break is planned with time free for lunch. A rather long day
trip but very enjoyable due to the numerous changes of the scenery:
fertile valleys, mountains and hills, farming areas, or long stretches
of pasture land scattered by villages etc. Late afternoon arrival in
Marrakech. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Imperial Borj or similar (Moderate
5 stars)
Day 5 - Marrakech & Sunset Camel Ride,,
Home Hosted Meal (BD)
After breakfast at hotel, enjoy a morning tour of Marrakech; the historical
monuments: the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace.
In the late afternoon discover the labyrinth souks with their numerous
tiny little shops bustling of activity, and Djemaa El Fna Square with
its open air entertainment. Just before sunset , we'll embark on a short
camel ride through Marrakech Palmgrove. Dinner tonight is a special
treat, meeting an authentic local Moroccan family over dinner.
If you would rather enjoy your dinner at the hotel, please let's know
in advance. You may wish to bring some small souvenirs from your home
town to exchange with the children of the family, be it a sport cap
of your favorite sport team, T shirt etc.
Day 6 . Ourzazate (BD)
Morning at leisure in Marrakech to relax before the second part of the
tour . Early afternoon departure for Ourzazate, crossing the Atlas Mountains
through Tizi N'Tichka Pass, altitude over 7,400 feet. Dinner and overnight
at hotel in Ourzazate, Kenzi Belere or similar 4 stars.
Day 7 - Erfoud (BD)
Morning departure for Erfoud through a pre Saharan landscape of "regs"
(rocky tables), small mountains and oasis scattered by Berber villages.
Enjoy the scenic drive through the famous 1001 Kasbah Valley. We briefly
visit or drive through : Kelaa des Mgouna oases, as well as Boulmane
du Dades, and Tinerhir a former military outpost for the French Foreign
Legion, built on terraces above the magnificent palmgrove and commands
the entrance to the Todra Gorge. Stop for lunch is arranged on the way
(not included). Then on to Erfoud for dinner and overnight at Hotel
Kasbah Tazimi or similar 4 stars hotel.
Day 8 - Zagora Oases (BD)
Morning departure for Rissani , we tour the Abou Aam Ksar ( Fortified
village, on to Zagora following the Draa Wadi Valley where six palm
forests form a long ribbon of greenery. Thanks to the proximity of the
river, cereals, henna, vegetables, fruit and date palms are cultivated,
either on the floor of the valley or on stepped terraces. Arrival in
Zagora in the afternoon an. Dinner and overnight in your hotel,Ksar
Tinsouline or similar 4 stars hotel.
Day 9 - Ouarzazate (Pearl of the South ) (BLD)
In the morning tour of Tamegrout and the Tinfu Dunes, then departure
to Ouarzazate through the Draa Valley and the six palm forests. Brief
stop in Ourzazate, lunch is included at a local restaurant. Drive back
to Marrakech.
Dinner at the hotel. Imperial Borj or similar 5 stars hotel.
Day 10 - Departure (B)
Morning transfer to Marrakech Menara airport in time for your
departure flight.
