Dressed in fine silk kimonos, you exchange your vows in a traditional merchant’s home, then proceed (by rickshaw, if you like) to a nearby temple for blessings on your new family.

It’s a very special ceremony for your very special day. Please let us do it for you!

In Japan, we pride ourselves on the unique character of our culture.

Likewise, with our custom tailored & culture tours , we take pride in our unique travel programs. They are unlike what you may have experienced in the past.

We take you beyond the normal experience: not just to a kabuki theater performance, but also backstage for a briefing on kabuki traditions and a demonstration of the elaborate kabuki make-up techniques by an American expert, resident in Japan, who is a professional kabuki actor/dancer in the classical style.

When we show you the joys of an evening of geisha entertainment, we go beyond the normal and include a lecture on the tradition by a university professor, and a private interview with an active geiko.

Don’t expect the normal from us . Expect more, expect a unique,
insightful, delightful introduction to the beauties of Japan. Expect
the best.

Business Meeting in Japan !!!

Among the many art forms of Japan is that of the business meeting.

As with any art form, each work of art--each meeting--must be perfect:
the setting, the accommodations, the cuisine, the after-meeting entertainment. In short, every detail, whether the meeting is for ten people or one thousand.

Japan is among the world’s cleanest, safest, most orderly countries, the perfect atmosphere in which to get things done. And with the very favorable exchange rate, an international meeting in Japan offers much
better value than in the past, and substantially better value than meeting in places with currencies that may presently be over-valued.

Beauty, efficiency, attention to detail, and pleasure in the result:
the Japanese art of the business meeting.

Let us show you!

Ohitaki Festival - Fire and Rice

November is the month when fire festivals, or Ohitaki , set several Kyoto shrines ablaze. Ohitaki stems from one of the oldest known Shinto rites, the Niiname, a kind of Thanksgiving Festival. Because a successful harvest depends on the goodwill of the gods, people must show their appreciation by offering newly harvested rice and heartfelt prayers. Since the gods exist in nature as do humans , the relationship between them is based on reciprocity- the gods need attention as much as humans need help. Like the American Thanksgiving Day , these ceremonies allow people to think about their dependence on and connection to nature, and to express this through ritual.
Fushimi Inari Shrine: Nov 8th : About 100,000 sticks sent from all over Japan will be burned . Ceremonial classic Shinto Kagura dance will also be performed. ( JR Nara Line from Kyoto to Inari Station).

Imahie Jingu Shrine : Nov 14: Ceremonial Classic Shinto Dance. Yudate Kagura, will be performed . ( City Bus # 206 , # 208 to Higashiyama Shichijo .

Koryu-Ji Temple : Nov 22 : Ancient Statues of Shotoku Taishi and a Yakushi Nyorai are only shown to the public on this day . There is an entrance fees . ( Kyoto Bus # 71 , 72 , 73 to Uzumasa Koryuji -Mae.

Hiraoka Hachimangu Shrine Nov 23:
A
Statue of the god Hachiman is on display to the public only on that day. Sake and sweets will be served. Near JR Hiraoka Hachiman Station
