DAY 2 - ATHENS PRIVATE CITY TOUR (B. Ice Cream - Tea - Coffee )
After breakfast, a half day private tour of Athens :
You will tour the great Greek capital, including the new Acropolis Museum , Constitution (Syntagma) Square, Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library.

Driving down Herod Atticus street you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniforms and the Presidential Palace.

On your way to the Acropolis, you will see the Panathenaic Stadium (where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896), the Temple of the Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch.

The Acropolis hill, so called the "Sacred Rock" of Athens, is the most important site of the city. During Perikles' Golden Age, ancient Greek civilization was represented in an ideal way on the hill and some of the architectural masterpieces of the period were erected on its ground.
The first habitation remains on the Acropolis date from the Neolithic period. Over the centuries, the rocky hill was continuously used either as a cult place or as a residential area or both. The inscriptions on the numerous and precious offerings to the sanctuary of Athena (marble korai, bronze and clay statuettes and vases) indicate that the cult of the city's patron goddess was established as early as the Archaic period (650-480 B.C.).

We will tour as well : The Ancient Agora of Athens was the heart of ancient Athens, the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity, the religious and cultural center, and the seat of justice.
The site was occupied without interruption in all periods of the city's history. It was used as a residential and burial area as early as the Late Neolithic period (3000 B.C.). Early in the 6th century, in the time of Solon, the Agora became a public area.
After a series of repairs and remodeling, it reached its final rectangular form in the 2nd century B.C. Extensive building activity occurred after the serious damage made by the Persians in 480/79 B.C., by the Romans in 89 B.C. and by the Herulae in A.D. 267 while, after the Slavic invasion in A.D. 580, It was gradually abandoned. From the Byzantine period until after 1834, when Athens became the capital of the independent Greek state, the Agora was again developed as a residential area.

Ice cream and coffee break, then head back to your hotel for siesta.
In the afternoon / early evening your guide will call you for a walking tour of the Plaka ancient district, will stop as well at one of the local ( modest ) tavernas for tea / coffee , before we head back to your hotel.

Rooms are also available to accommodate guests with special needs.

Day 4 - Amanzoe Resort at Porto Heli ( B)
Comprising a 38-suite resort and an Aman Spa, Amanzoe is Amanresorts’ third Mediterranean retreat – the Greek complement to Montenegro’s Aman Sveti Stefan and Turkey’s Amanruya. Drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for ‘peace’ and zoe (pronounced zoi), the Greek word for ‘life’, Amanzoe is situated on a hilltop close to the quaint town of Porto Heli on the east coast of the Peloponnese. The resort offers almost 360º panoramic sea views as well as a private Beach Club in a picturesque bay.

Surrounded by undulating olive groves and overlooking the island of Spetses and the Argosaronic Gulf beyond, Amanzoe is just a 10-minute drive from the tavernas and vibrant life of Porto Heli. The road approaching Amanzoe ascends to the porte-cochere, a grand marble-clad edifice which serves as the entrance. Beyond lies the hilltop resort, arranged around an expansive reflection pool with spectacular views of the sea. A contemporary retreat embracing Greece’s rich history and culture, Amanzoe offers travellers an ideal base from which to explore the natural beauty, coastal pleasures and ancient heritage of the Peloponnese region.

Porto heli : The scenic town of Porto Heli is situated on the east coast of the Peloponnese and across from the cosmopolitan islands of Hydra and Spetses. Surrounded by a glittering blue sea, this area is the birthplace of legends and civilization, blessed by a history that embraces the Spartans and Romans, the Byzantines and Venetians, all drawn here over the millennia because of the region’s beauty, wealth and strategic location. Porto Heli itself is a district of the Municipality of Ermionida which includes the districts of Ermioni, Kranidi and Kilada. The entire area is often collectively referred to as Porto Heli.

Day 5 - Amanzoe Luxury Resort and The Experience(B)
Another day to relax, enjoy this Aman Luxury Resort or explore ancient sites
There is a wealth of ancient archaeological sites to explore in the area surrounding Amanzoe. nafplion
The historic city of Nafplion is situated just 65 kilometers away from Amanzoe. The first capital of modern Greece, it is well-known for its neoclassical architecture, the imposing Palimidi Castle overlooking the city, and the Bourtzi Castle in the middle of the harbour. Take a stroll in the old part of town, visit the archaeological museum, sample local cuisine at any of the sea-view tavernas and spend an evening enjoying the town’s live jazz bars.

Day 6 - Amanzoe Luxury Resort at Porto Heli (B)
Full day at leisure , the choice is totally yours if you wish to go island hopping:
The peninsula is surrounded by numerous uninhabited islets, ideal for day trips, sailing excursions and swimming in secluded coves. A bit farther away, but still within easy reach by water taxi is the island of Hydra. Also car-free and populated by historic sea captain mansions which evoke an ambience of centuries past, it is renowned for its vibrant dining scene and nightlife.

historical, archaeological and nature treks
Trekking in the beautiful scenery of the Peloponnese is an invigorating and memorable experience. Trek to the Frachti Caves from Kilada, or past Byzantine chapels, Mycenaean tombs and watermills on your way from Mycenae to the Temple of Hera (2 hours) or the village of Prosymni (3 hours). Other options include a light trek to the sunken hollows of Vythismata or the Bisti Forest at Ermioni.

The region has a reputation for its agricultural products including its citrus fruits, low-acidity olives, diverse fish and crustaceans and wine. Amanzoe offers guests the opportunity to pick olives and make their own olive oil (seasonal); join in the pomegranate harvest (seasonal); visit local sheep and goat farmers who make their own cheese; and collect honey (seasonal) on a trip to the local hives and honey museum. Within 90 minutes of Amanzoe there are numerous vineyards open for wine tasting.
