in the Greek Islands This 12-day itinerary includes Athens, then
whisks you by air to idyllic hideaways in the Greek Islands. Then on
to the land of the Pharaohs.
You'll compare superlatives. . Our
select island facilities in Greece offer privacy, intimacy, and
outings to villages, beaches, taverns and more. The choice is yours.
DAY
1 - ATHENS :Daily, choose your own dates : Athens - March - Nov
You'll be greeted at the airport by our local representative, who will
assist with formalities and baggage, and see you to your hotel. Once
you settle in, you're free to stroll, browse for curios and treasures,
and perhaps dine at a cafe in the old Plaka district. Or, we'll be pleased
to arrange an optional Athens by Night tour, which includes a Greek
dinner and musical entertainment.
DAY
2 - ATHENS- Private Tour (BL)
This
private tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts
that make Athens such a fascinating city. Your expert guide will take
you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of
modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the
Prime Minister's residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones
in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's
Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy,
the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma).
On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden
Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion
and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the
monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon. Continue
and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire
the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum.Lunch at
a local restaurant. Afternoon leisure walk of the ancient district of
the Plaka .

DAY 3 - ATHENS, MYKONOS (B)
Take the morning to finish your shopping, or for additional explorations.
In the afternoon, we'll call for you and see you to the airport for
your flight to the island of Mykonos. We'll have a representative on
hand to meet you, and check you in to your hotel. Relax!
DAY 4 - MYKONOS (B)
The day is totally yours. There's no need to venture beyond the grounds
of your lovely hotel. But on the other hand, there's plenty of reason
to do so, starting with 350 whitewashed churches and chapels, dramatic
cliffs, blue seas, and secluded beaches.

5 - MYKONOS (B)
Maybe this will be your day to stay put. Or maybe you'll mix relaxation
with walks to photograph the famed windmills of Mykonos, or to watch
fishermen at work along the sea.
DAY
6 - MYKONOS, SANTORINI (B)
Reserve some time to stroll the cobbled lanes of Mykonos, to sip an
ouzo or a retsina at a waterside cafe, to discover a beach or two, to
pick up a loaf of fresh bread and cheese and olives, and picnic on a
hillside as you look out to sailboats at sea. We'll rendezvous in time
to take you to your flight for Santorini. On arrival, we'll see that
you're checked in to your hotel. Sample

7 - SANTORINI (B)
Enjoy breakfast at your lovely hotel and linger for as long as you wish.
When you venture out, explore the cliff top town of Thira with its winding
paths leading from view to spectacular view. We offer an optional tour
to the archaeological site of Akrotiri, reputed to be the center of
the lost civilization of Atlantis.
DAY 8 - SANTORINI (B)
The day is yours for relaxing or exploring on your own--or both! You
might take a boat across to the dormant volcano, and ascend through
a crater-pocked moonscape to the crater. Or savor a soak in hot sulfur
springs. Arrange a winery visit or another excursion.

9 - Athens / Cairo (B)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. We'll pick you up and see
you to your Athens-bound flight , at Athens airport please proceed on
your own to the connecting flight to Cairo , air fare is included in
economy class, tax included . In cairo upon
arrival, our local rep. will escort you to your comfortable hotel.Visa
is issued upon arrival for the following nationalities; American, Australian,
NZ, EU , Canadian , Japanese and Singaporean , upon paying $ 15 USD
in cash, no photo required , your passport must be valid for at least
6 month beyond date of arrival.
The local rep. will meet you outside the terminal after you collect
your luggage from customs area .
Complimentary welcome fruit basket / Egyptian sweets platter , await
you at your room

DAY
10 - CAIRO- Sailing on the Nile (cBLD)
Today we see Cairo's major sights: the Egyptian Museum, including
the Mummies Room. We'll continue to Royal Manial Palace of former
Crown Prince Mohamed Ali , on to the Coptic Museum, and the Church of
Abu Sergha, and the Beni Ezra Synagogue.
We'll see where,according to the legend, Moses was found along the banks
of the Nile. We'll take our lunch at a local restaurant.
Enjoy a 30 minute felucca sailing on the Nile to see Cairo from a different
angle before we head back to your hotel.
DAY
11 - DAHSOUR - HOME HOSTED MEAL (cBLD)
After breakfast, we'll motor to the edge of Cairo, to the mysterious
Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. The
museum of the Royal Barge of Cheops The museum is built over the rectangular
pit that housed the Royal Barge for thousands of years , the wooden
boat was readied for the king's daily journey with the sun god, Ra .
Discovered in 1954, in a completely dismantled state, the 43-metre (140-foot)
cedar boat is a rare window on the Royal boats used by the kings of
Ancient Egypt.
Those
who are fit and adventurous enough may wish to penetrate into the heart
of the Great Pyramid, to the King's Chamber your ticket is included
with our compliments (or the interior of Kephren Pyramid). Taking
a camel ride (Included) is entirely your own choice!
Continue
to Dahshour, the newly-opened pyramid field south of Cairo. We
visit the great pyramid of Senfru, father of Cheops, and other structure:
The "Discovery" of Dahshour:
For almost half a century, the great field of huge pyramids near the
desert village of Dahshour, 25 miles south of Cairo, has been off limits
to the public. Confined within the perimeter of a military base were
many pyramids, including the great 4500-year-old pyramid built by Senfru,
father of Cheops. Senfru's pyramid, the largest in Egypt until his son
built Giza's Great Pyramid, is rhomboidal in shape: it tapers more distinctly
on its upper half. All the pyramids were coated in thick plaster at
one time. Most have lost these protective, decorative sheaths, but Senfru's--miraculously--is
still in place.

into the homes of some of the people of Cairo l! You'll be invited to
a family dinner, and while you enjoy wholesome home-cooked specialties,
you'll learn about and appreciate the outlook, aspirations, and way
of life of your hosts. Be assured, as curious as you may be about your
new friends, they're sure to have questions about your own background.
Once the ice is broken, you'll enjoy a lively evening, and find that
you have more in common than you ever suspected. Of course, you may
enjoy a quiet evening with your travel companions, by letting us know
your preferences.
