SAILING THE NILE

Day 1- Cairo - LUXOR - Thursday
 (weekly , year round)
We pick you up from your hotel in Cairo around 5 AM. Board a morning flight to Luxor(air ticket is included in our rate).We'll meet you at the airport and escort you to your Royal Barge. Welcome drink served upon arrival ;Karkadeh- Local herb tea. Welcome dinner served at a local restaurant.

Day 2- LUXOR- Friday (BLD)
Breakfast on board. Today We tour the magnificent tombs in the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, including the great temple of Queen Hatshepsut, stopping also at the Colossi of Memnon before heading back to Luxor for Lunch . In the afternoon we stand in awe before the gigantic Great Temple of Amon at Karnak, and the mighty Temple of Luxor,  

Day 3- ESNA- Saturday (BLD) 
We sail early morning upriver towards Esna , we enjoy lunch at one of the small islands on the way.
Reach Esna late afternoon, where we dock to tour Esna Temple, discovered in late in the 19th Century, it was well protected & preserved , buried under the main village's square for thousands of years.

Day 4- ESNA/ EDFU -Sunday (BLD)
Breakfast on board. We sail further upstream heading for Edfu. Enjoy a grand day of sailing on the Nile watching villages and scenery 
that changed little since Biblical times. Watch sunset as we sip tea on deck. Dinner follows, then to bed, with the  ripples of the Nile gently rocking you to sleep.  Reach Edfu and dock for the night.

Day 5- EDFU -Monday (BLD)
After breakfast on board in Edfu, climb aboard horse-drawn carriages, 
and clip-clop through the town to the Temple of Horus, Egypt's best 
preserved. Returning to the Royal Cleopatra, we enjoy Lunch at Selwa. Get ready for a galabya costume party, (a galabya will be delivered to your cabin with our compliments), a native barbecue dinner will be served on a small islands in the river . 

Day 6- KOM OMBO / ASWAN -Tuesday (BLD)
Set sail in the Royal Cleopatra, headed for Kom Ombo. We visit its twin temple dedicated to the crocodile god of the Nile, then relax on board as we sail to Aswan in the Afternoon. A short camel ride/mini caravan to a nearby Nubian Village to meet the locals .Evening Farewell dinner .

Day 7 - Aswan- Wednesday   (B)
Enjoy breakfast on board in the comfort of your cabin or on the Sun 
Deck. Check- out, we bid farewell to the crew, then we switch  transportation modes to tour of the Island Temple of Philae dedicated to the Ancient Egyptian Goddess : ISIS. With these vivid impressions in mind, we drive to the airport for the flight (Air ticket included in our rate) to Cairo with the same day connection to Hurgada . And transfer to one of the deluxe hotels .



SOUTHERN RED SEA CRUISE

Embark/Disembark : MARSA ALAM

Day 8 - Hurgada / Live Aboard Yacht  - Thursday (BLD)
Embarkation Hurgada or - Mersa Galeb.
Subject to availability at the time you book, as you well as your preference . This program is based on Flying or driving from Hurgada to Mersa Alam on
- First Dive: Abu Dabbab. ( 2 hours sailing ).
- Second Dive: Shaeb Alam
- Mersa Alam to Samadai; One hour sailing.
- Night Dive: Samadai and overnight.

Day 09 - Samadai to Wadi El Gemal; ( 2 hours sailing ). Friday (BLD)
- First Dive: Shaeb El Sharm. (Wadi El Gemal).
- Second Dive: Shaeb El Sharm. (Wadi El Gemal) or El Ghadir.
- Night Dive: " Dah-ret " Wadi El Gemal and overnight.

Day 10 - Wadi El Gemal to Satayeh ( 4-5 hours sailing ) Saturday (BLD)
Sailing around 04:00 a.m.
- First Dive: Shaeb Claudia or Maksour.
- Second Dive: Shaeb " Abu Diab " a shore dive.
- Night Dive: Abu Halawa.
- Overnight at Satayeh.

Day 11 - First Dive: Satayeh. Sunday (BLD)
- Satayeh to Wadi El Gemal.
- Second Dive: Ras Um Krab.
- Night Dive: Wadi El Gemal and overnight.

Day 12 - Monday (BLD)
First Dive: El Ghadir.

- Second Dive: Shaeb El Ghadir.
- Night Dive: Samadai and overnight.

Day 13 - Tuesday .(BLD)
First Dive: Elphenstone.

- Second Dive: Abu Dabab.
- Night Dive: Shaeb Abu Dabab (another part of the big reef) and overnight.

Day 14 -Wednesday (BLD)
First Dive: Ket-aat Abu Dabab.

- Second Dive: Ket-aat Abu Dabab.
- Night Dive: El Shouna.

Day 15 - Thursday . (BLD)
First Dive: El Shouna.

- Return to Mersa Ghaleb and disembarkation.
All diving / diving sites is/are WEATHER PERMITTING

Inclusions : 

  • Transfers on Day 1 & Day 7 from /to Luxor Airport or the train station to hotels and/or the Royal Cleopatra all as per itinerary.
  • Transfers Between Hurgada and/or Marsa Alam Airport & The boat.
  • Accommodation & shore excursions while on board the Royal Cleopatra as per itinerary .
  • A resident Egyptologist while eon board the Royal Cleopatra to answer any of your questions while on board.
  • One night deluxe hotel accommodation in Hurgada with breakfast.
  • All meals while on board the Royal Cleopatra , pre set menu meals : B/L/D = Preset menu breakfast,lunch,dinner.
  • Seven nights accommodations on board with all meals include. Preset menu.
  • Sailing itinerary and diving as listed ,Itineraries are just an example of North and South sailing/cruising Safaris, there is a lot to see! Sequence of itinerary and diving sites depend mainly on weather conditions. Please remember; Diver's safety always comes FIRST !!
    Sailing time is approximate, depending on weather conditions!
    Your Captain is one of the best in the Red Sea, please always follow his advice!
    Your Dive Master is well experienced in this area. He is your Key to a safe dive!

Diving Rules:

* Since most of the dive sites are situated at remote locations, please limit your depth to your abilities and follow the guidelines of your dive master.

* Please be aware that you are, at least, 4 - 5 hours away from the nearest decompression facility.

* Make safety stops whenever possible. Note: safety tank present on the accompanying boat at all times.

* First dive is a check-dive where your competent dive master will check you on the following:

Mask-clearing, Out-of-air situation and Buoyancy control.

* Never remain under water with less than 30 BAR ( 300 PSI ), 50 BAR go to your safety stop depth, 30 BAR ascend to the surface.

* Always dive with your buddy, if you lose one another under water, look around for one minute, then ascend to the surface.

* Please be environmentally aware: Do not collect, kill, feed Fish or harass any Fish life whatsoever.

* As South Red Sea is a member of HEPCA ( Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Association ), let us set an example in preserving the Red Sea

* On most of the Live-aboard boats, fresh water is limited, so please apply economic usage.

* Please do not enter the lounge or your cabin with wet suite. Also, please be careful with wet feet. Wet floors    are slippery!

* Your personal belongings are your responsibility, the boat is safe. You may attach everything, so the wind    could not blow anything away. Well place your stuff, and secure any fragile items.

* The electrical current on the boat, as well as all over Egypt, is 220 V - 50 Hz, so please make sure your    equipment is either converted properly or a converter is used if needed.

* Drinks are extras, so please make sure you settle them.

* For emergencies, there is an Oxygen Tank is available on board as well as a medical first aid kit, please refer   to your dive guide.

* Tanks are 12 L., Aluminum Int'l Standard.

* Please make sure your Port Halls of your cabin is closed when your boat is underway or when in a rough   weather.

* In order to avoid any possible Dehydration, please make sure you drink enough liquids

  • Regrettably, discounts are not available for children on  this cruise/tour.
  • Please remember that we can also arrange a cruise on the Nile for you on one of the large, spacious, luxurious air-conditioned Nile cruisers with all the conveniences: a different experience from the intimate ambiance of the "Royal Cleopatra."
